Yeah, well, it's been a few months and the hondas are still in the gay-rage. I'm old and lazy. Not that I haven't been busy on other projects...just your general stuff around the house. It's definitely time to get O.G. Honda out, get 'er batteried up, inspected, insured, licensed. It's just such a pain in the ass. Not to mention the expense. Got to get the insurance first, it'll be around $100 for six months. Then a battery...that'll be $20-$30. Tags, $20. Missouri inspection (a racket), $12, if there's nothing "wrong". I guess that's not a whole lot of money to some, but I'm pathetically poor. I can think of 100 other things (less life-threatening) that I could spend a couple of hundred bucks on.
Oh, and I guess, after 3 or 4 years of riding, I'd better actually get a motorcycle license. That involves taking a test for a permit (waiting in line, etc), which is good for 6 months, and in that time you have to take a test that involves riding around a course. I'm sure it'll be cake; I can handle my cycle just fine. And I've taken the permit test before, and scored 100%. Again, it's just a hassle.
And I'm job hunting. The job I have now is a joke. I'll surely miss certain aspects of it when I quit, but my current goal is to score an electrician's apprenticeship. I'm not ever sure how the app. thing works, but I'm good with all sorts of electronics - I have been since I was about 8. I've just never had the certification. So if I can get a good paying apprenticeship, (anything over $10 and hour would be an upgrade) I should be good to go - electricians get paid good. And there's a lot of work in Columbia, and probably other places as well. Benefits would also be nice - I'm gettin' old, and the prospect of some health coverage would be great.
Well, that's some boring shit, eh? Not that anyone reads this here blog anyway....
